zip large file error
hey,
i ws wondering if anyone knew anything about this. When i try to zip a lrge file such as one that is 3.4GB uzing Zip 2.3 i get this error zip foo.zip foo zip warning: name not matched: foo zip error: Nothing to do! (foo.zip) im running slack9 with xfs suppose i should use bzip2 or something, but i want zip, its faster  |
A 3.4 GB file.
That is big... :D If you get that error message, it is because the file foo does not exist in the current directory. |
ohh trust me its in the same directory, thats why i was confused about the error, something like this file is to large to zip would be more helpful
i tried gzip and it works fine |
Yes, that is true.
Zip has some size restrictions. :( I always forget about that. Now I remember why I stopped using Zip. :p |
its nice and fast though, ohh well
