Yum runs once or twice within a small timeframe and then will not run until a reboot.
Yum is stalling whenever I start it if I had used it previously. The only thing that seems to allow me to run yum again is a reboot of the system. When I run yum the following processes start and never end: rpm, awk, rpmq, sort, crond, run-parts, makewhatis.cron, and makewhatis. I have tried rebuilding yum's cache, and stopping those processes. So far, nothing has worked. Help would be appreciated. I am just about fed up with it and am thinking of just installing FC6 (though I would greatly prefer to know how to fix this for future reference as well as wanting to be able to wait till I try and upgrade).
