yum install squid does not work on redhat 5.8
 

Dear forum users.
I removed squid from redhat 5.8.
Using yum remove squid.
But cannot install it again using command yum install squid.
What is the problem.

well if you do not post any error, then we can not help
also 5.8 is a bit out of date
the current in the legacy 5 series in 5.11

you really do need to upgrade ASAP

seeing as RHEL is a commercial product and you do need the required support contract
have you contacted redhat tech support

you are paying redhat in upwards of a few thousands dollars per year , you might want to use that support .
