yum install mythtv-suite, Mythtv, nothing found, atrpms
Hi!
I'm trying to install mythtv by yum. (yum install mythtv-suite)
But it doesn't seem like yum can find the package.
Code:
[root@localhost yum.repos.d]# yum install mythtv-suite
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
atrpms 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00
livna 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00
core 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00
updates 100% |=========================| 1.2 kB 00:00
freshrpms 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00
extras 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Parsing package install arguments
No Match for argument: mythtv-suite
However if I just do yum search mythtv, it finds a great number of mythtv progs.
What am I doing wrong?
Please help me!
I use fedora fc 6, i686.

presumably mythtv-suite isn't oe of the results returned by the search.... googling for mythtv-suite links first off to atrpms, but actually 404's. as such i'd assume that the package conventions changed at some point. looks like you just want "mythtv" by itself.

No, I doesn't get mythtv-suite as one of the results, but however, nearly all guides available recommends yum mythtv-suite.
On the site (atrpms.net) you can see that it excists a package/rpm named just myth-suite.. Is it possible that my repo is wrong?
This is what is contains;
Quote:
[root@localhost yum.repos.d]# cat atrpms.repo
[atrpms]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - ATrpms
baseurl=http://dl.atrpms.net/fc$releasever-$basearch/atrpms/stable
gpgkey=http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms
gpgcheck=1

why would the repo be wrong.? if it contains "myth-suite" and you're asking for "mythtv-suite" then it's clearly your fault no?

I'm not sure about that, I saw it on a "fileindex", but if you try yum search myth*, you find several mythtv packages, however not mythtv-suite.
I just think that the packet isn't on the server.
Actually I gave up, and installed package after package and now it works fine.
Thanks for your help anyway!
Have a nice day!

just because you see a package name on some webpage doesn't mean that's a guarentee of what it's called everywhere in the world.
