Hi all-

So i was installing Limewire last night after installing jre, editing .bash_profile to add the java path i thought i was read to go.

so i go to install as root using:

chmod 777 LimeWireLinux.bin
./ LimeWireLinux.bin

installer goes as is should, however when i get to the part about what dir i want to install it in it defaults to /root/limewire, which i change to /usr/local. The strange thing is that it would not let me change the Link Folder to anything but /root. I didnt want to install it there so i quit. I tired searching for the answer but didnt find it?

any suggestions?

im running mandrake 9.1 if that matters....

the link folder will be a symlink to the limewire binary/directory (I dont remember which one) it doesn't mean it will install there.

I just wanted to be sure before installing, didnt want anything to install to /root.
It should be fine to install to usr/local/ and leave the link folder alone?

yup, it's what I do
