I am currently trying to install YellowDog on an old Mac I have laying around (PM 7300). I'm installed YD before, but it was on My iBook, which will boot off the YD CD. with This machine, I have to use.
To get YD to install on the PM, I use the BootX util, which is installed correctly. I'm following the directions found here (I am NOT doing a duel boot system; I'm doing the instructions witht he title of OldWorld ROM systems: BootX):
http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/suppor.../guide2.2.shtm I can get through to step 6.3 without any problem, but there seems to be something missing between steps 6.3 and 7. ie: I do step 6.3 and back at the main window I have two choices: I can click on MacOS which loads me back into MacOS, or I can on "linux" which causes the screen to go black and nothing else happens.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the "Linux to Install" option to appear?
I tried access BootX via MacOS...It kinda worked (It actually brought me into the Linux Install/boot screen (where it detects hardware and stuff). But after going througha SCSI options, and timing out, it tells me that it couldn't find a harddrive?!?!?!?
