Yast Online Update problems

I bought Suse 9.2 and also created a freeserve account so i could make the switch to linux for good, Install went fine no problems. But when i tried to use the Yast Online Update nothing will install but downloads fine, i have tried doing each patch one at a time and also all the patches that where ticked by default. I need someone to tell me what if anything i am doing wong bare in mind i am new to linux so i may need the dummy version please.
Here is the output for just one of the patches.

choose a difference mirror and check the box that says "reload all patches from server".

You can also add new sources of installation to YasT. For that, refer to the sticky in the SusE forum, but that isn't for Online Updates, its for new software installs.

Thumbs up error results form damaged rpm db - rebuild db will solve the problem

Hi cudajaw

the reason most likely is either an earlier aborted or killed or interrupted system update process resulting in a damaged package db

i had the same error - the solution is easy

run in your shell the command:

rpm --rebuilddb

this will rebuild the rpm database and the problem was fixed in my case

have fun
