yahoo messenger on Redhat 9

Does yahoo messenger for linux version, work good on Redhat 9? i don't see a version for redhat 9, so just wondering will the version for redhat 8 run ok on 9?

Crashed_Again 06-23-2003 01:16 PM

Its easier to use GAIM with the yahoo plugin in my opinion.

warheros 06-23-2003 01:48 PM

i agree.

I know it has already been said but gaim. It is also great because if you ever get any other chat clients it supports them all at once so you don't have to have a ton of programs open at once.

warheros 06-23-2003 03:00 PM

exactly, it's almost like windows' trillian.

LinuxBAH 06-23-2003 03:23 PM

Almost like? I havn't found anything I did with trillian that I can't do with gaim. :)

warheros 06-23-2003 05:14 PM

ah-HA!

can you run gaim in windows though? because you can run trillian in windows. *shifteyes*

xoros 06-23-2003 05:27 PM

ok but gaim doesn't transfer files like messenger does, does it?

Crashed_Again 06-23-2003 06:29 PM

Good point. No file transfers. Oh well.

nakkaya 06-24-2003 05:42 PM

didnt they add file transfer? on their 0.62 release?

ehdwuld 07-04-2003 04:52 AM

where might I aquire the yahoo plugin for gaim?

S.D.Willie 07-04-2003 08:25 AM

if you open up gaim just before you sign on, look for the button that says plugins. you might see it there on the left. you just have to load it.
