yahoo messanger problem under redhat 8.0


ok well now that i finally got a linux to work for me, redhat 8.0 i cant seem to get yahoo to work, it connects and all but i cant see what i am typing or teh other person i have tried to change the colors that didnt work adn i tried to uninstall but i cant uninstall it to try adn reinstallt o see if that would help.

did you try the rpm build for it?

from what I have heard is one of the rpm's has a flaw that it doesnt check for a certain package and if it's missing, then youll get some strange flaws...

try getting an older ver of ym for linux if possible because i dont think they make a tarball for ym... could be wrong on that one as well...

ok got it, but i still need to get rid of yahoo mesanger

hi mystic,
login as root, change directory to /opt and then remove the ymessenger directory.

cd /opt
rm -f ymessenger

This is the default installation directory if u hv had done installation with rpm
also u can
rpm -e ymessenger

before all the above deletion.
