Angry yahoo buttons not working on firefox.

hi all,
i've been using firefox for some time now. all seems well for almost all sites...but in yahoo..the 'forward', 'reply' , 'search mail' etc. buttons dont work. so i cannot forw or reply to mails. i tried in konqueror and they do work fine there. same applies for FF in Windows also. anybody else facing the same problem? what could be the possible solution? any plugins available to patch it?

That's really odd. I use Yahoo mail once in a while (for junk accounts) and it's always worked fine for me, under both FF/Linux and FF/Windows. Also Mozilla/Linux. What version are you running?

i use FF 1.0.6 on linux. i had 1.0.4 on windows, then upgraded to 1.0.6...but never worked on it later to find if the problem still persists. i've been on linux all time since i installed RHEL4WS. As for FF, i am not using the one that came bundled with RHEL4, i had installed the latest i found on FF site.

The official FF build should have no problems. Did you check the Bugzilla for related issues?

Do you have Javascript enabled?

Are you using a proxy like Privoxy, Guidescope, Junkbusters, Squid or a form of adblocking like the Adblock extension or NoScript?

From your description it sounds like the JS for Yahoo Mail is blocked. If it works in Konqueror or any other browser but not FF that "might" be the problem.

If not try creating a new profile and see if that fixes the problem.

Firefox Help: How To Manage Profiles,
Quote:
On Linux or Mac, start Firefox with the the -profilemanager switch, e.g. ./firefox -profilemanager (this assumes that you're in the firefox directory).

You should now see the Profile Manager window

AdBlock breaks Yahoo Mail? I wonder if the AdBlock authors are aware of this.

Check your adblock filter for references to ying.com, or anything related to Yahoo, Geocities. Delete those filters and you will be ok.

The G Filter set is your best bet.

Lightbulb Buttons not working in Yahoo! mail

I had the same issue, tried a number of different things. It seems it is a scripting issue. After running the latest VB scripting engine, everything worked perfectly.
Hope this helps:

RESOLUTION
Clear the temporary Internet files and the history
1. Click View (if you are using Internet Explorer 4.01) or Tools (if you are using Internet Explorer 5.0 or 5.01).
2. Click Internet Options and then click the General tab.
3. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Files, and then click OK.
4. In the History section, click Clear History, and then click OK.

Install the latest scripting engine
To install the newest version of the Visual Basic Scripting Engine, click the link for the operating system that you are using.
