Xv Driver issue in mplayer and Xine.

Spec:

Dell Latitude C600
PIII 750 Mhz
256 MB RAM
20 GB HD
RH 8.0 kernel 2.4.18-24

I guess it has to be something about Xv on my PC. I used boith maplyer and xine set to use Xv as my video driver and what I get is half the diplay in the window.

Simply put, at the start of Xine you should see the word XINE in the display screen. I only get XI and a little bit of the N. When I reproduce video it's the same I only get about half the display for the scene.

If I use X11 driver (mplayer) I get the video going full display.

Somebody knows if I'm doing something wrong or have to config soemthing for this to work?

Im not fully familiarized with redhat's setup, but i had the same problem with my slack 9.0

what i did was under the kde control center i went to peripherals and tehn display (the one wif the X icon) and clicked on that
a window called XFree86 Configuration popped up and i selected my video card (voodoo3) after that it worked just fine. also on console do a xvinfo to see what adapters are configured for ur xv. If u don't find the xonfigurator in ur kde control panel, goto console and to a kxconfig, the window should pop up.

if all else fails, and ur feeling lucky goto /etc/x11 and open up XF86Config and goto where it says -

# **********************************************************************
# Graphics device section
# **********************************************************************

from there u define ur video card... i would do a search on the web and find someone wif that same video card as ur's and input their configuration.
speakuing of which, what is ur video card?
