Just started tonight. I ssh user@host.com and login. I can vi a file, move files, do this, do that and about 3 minutes into the session - nothing, locked tight. Even ctrl[ doesn't do a thing. Only thing that works is the X in the top right corner.
FC8 Linux 2.6.25.10-47.fc8 #1 SMP
All current packages loaded. It was fine yesterday, tonight :-(
Tough one--sounds like a memory leak or something similar. Have you tried running "top" so you can watch what's happening system-wide to see if it's consuming lots of resources?
Still, you said it only started tonight. Can you think of anything AT ALL, even unrelated, you changed that could affect SSH or even the entire system that you did in the last few days?

Situation: I'm at home sshing to where a web page is hosted doing changes & updates going back and forth xterm/firefox/xterm/firefox/xt xt xt $@%$!## I'm going to post this, kill firefox and ssh again. And no I haven't done anything to the system this past week - a couple of "you have new updates". (later)
Well firefox wasn't it - I've got my hosting company trying the same thing - could be on that end - problem is I've only got 1 location I can go to try it.
