xterm in windows

Hi,

I am now using a centralized linux server, and there are four windows clients.

One of my friend wanrt to access the applications like octave, etc.. from windows. Presently I see that we can do it with x-win32 (commercial).

Please let me know if any freeware is available that can accomplish the above task?

Regards,
Shyam

I know PUTTY allows X forwarding but it does not provide an X server. I use the cygwin X server (and ssh client) on windows stations to run remote unix or linux apps.
