Xtel problem

I want to install xtel on my redhat 8.0 with kernel 2.4.20-8 (with Tekram DC315 support integrated and no Dabusb module ).

I tried both rpm (with or without motif library) and of course install the Motif library and its clone.

When i type xtel i I get error with drawings.
About the helvetica font : cannot convert to fontsub or something alike
And then several badDrawable errors (winget).

With motif, same thing with xpm stuff.

Any idea how to solve my problem ?

Note that i don't remember my XFree version (how do i know it ?)

I can't help you with your xtel problem but I can tell you how to find your xfree version number.

I have XFree 4.2.0 and Gcc 3.2 200290. Thanks both of you.

Now for my Xtel problem ???

Post a link to where you got Xtel from, and it would help if you put your distro into your profile, some of us answer a lot of threads and having details like that under your user name make it easier to remember which is which.

Ok, try downloading the source, see if you get any errors when you do ./configure on it, they should help in tracking down the problem.

.configure does nothing. However i saw a config.tmpl file with compilation options. Some are related to my problem it seems (NO_XPM, etc...). I'll test some, just to see.

Now this install make the font folder and add the line in the XFree config file in ../fs folder.
It copy the programs xtel and xteld, and the xtel folder where it should be.
Lines are added in /etc/services
It set access right (in etc/hosts is seems)
But
Files xtel and xtelx aren't added to /etc/xinetd.d folder.

I type make_xtel_lignes and it detect correctly my modem (olitec speed voice 56000) on ttyS0.
I restart xinetd service (and stop hylafax just in case).
And now i get (in root or under another user) :
Connection refused

Damn i made it work !!!!!!!!!
I install the files xtel and xtelw in etc/xinetd.d (like i did always)
I just change one thing in xtel : i add "root Dek" to the line user instead of only "root". I unload hylafax, launch xtel under root and the window appeared !

Now it dials but do not connect to anything ...
Can anyone help ?
