XScreensaver will not turn monitor off
Hello. I'm using Slackware 9.1, and XScreensaver does not turn off my monitor for some reason. The delays are set, and it worked well with both RedHat 9 and Mandrake 9.1.
Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem on debian, what happened for me was that I didn't have acpi set up right (I had switched from apm) see if power management is set up, also see if your loading the modules in /etc/modules

I am using APM, and I don't seem to have an ACPI module:
Code:
[root@raviv2:/home/sweiss]$ modprobe acpi
modprobe: Can't locate module acpi
What shall I do?

Check with
ps -A | grep xscreen
whether it's actually running.
Post the output of
less ~/.xscreensaver
Cheers,
Tink

This change makes the screen lock with password protection. What I was looking for is a way to turn it of using the Power Management settings.
Any other suggestions?
