XScreensaver and Gnome issue
Hi
I recently installed Sscreensaver 5.32 on my Fedora 22 system, then I disabled the Screen Lock using the tweak tool, and after I created a startup file xscreensaver.desktop. But then, when system is idle for 10 minutes the screen becomes black and then nothing happens, until I touch the mouse then the date and time appear on the center ot the screen and when I press the Enter button, the gnome desktop appears. I first thought maybe it is because of the start up file, to make sure I started manually the XScreensaver deamon using the xscreensaver command, at the end I have the same result. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this ? Thinks in advance |
can you give us a detailed list of what is being autostarted at login?
can you start xscreensaver from a terminal, and see what sort of messages it spits out? what screensaver is xscreensaver set up to use? maybe it is a clock & date? |
Often there's a setting for locking the screen that's independent of the screensaver.
I don't have Fedora right now, but I'd suggest taking a look in the control center or system settings or whatever Fedora calls it for "display" (or some similar item). |
