Xsan: scanner scans too slow

Hello frineds.

Does anybody know how to make Xsane working faster?

Ubuntu 10.04.3
Xsane 0.996-2ubuntu3
2.6.32-30 generic

The client told me that earlier his HP LaserJet M1120 MFP scanned faster.

I checked all Xsane's options but haven't found anything. And I installed the latest 3.11.12 hplip to him. I think he started complaining after this.

If somebody will help, where I can find "speed" options - it would be great!

Best regards, Lexus.

PS: I think when 1120 or 1132 works (scans and prints) it's already GREAT because this device seems to me not very friendly to Linux, even with the latest hplip versions.

Well, one thing that greatly influences the speed of scanning is the resolution. It depends on what they need, but I recommend 300 or 600 DPI. 1200 DPI scans very slow.

Also, if I scan only black and white text, I put it on grayscale, but this may not speed it up.

Yeah, that's it. So it's slow with 75 ? That's not good.

Is this the printer:

If so, maybe try the listed driver.
