xpdf (non-embedded fonts)

Hello.

I have a pdf file with fonts that are not embedded.
I can display this file with xpdf 3.00-11 , but since acroread performs better, I'd like xpdf to show nice fonts too.
I mean, acroread does display fonts better, clean and sharp.
Which fonts am I talking about?
Code:
$ pdffonts xyz.pdf
name type emb sub uni object ID
------------------------------------ ------------ --- --- --- ---------
Georgia TrueType no no no 7365 0
Georgia TrueType no no no 7142 0
Georgia-Bold                         TrueType     no  no  no    7141  0
Georgia-Italic                       TrueType     no  no  no    7139  0
BGAIJE+SymbolMT CID TrueType yes yes yes 7137 0
Verdana TrueType no no no 7147 0
Georgia-BoldItalic                   TrueType     no  no  no    7148  0
CourierNewPSMT TrueType no no no 7150 0
BGBBCF+TimesNewRoman                 TrueType     yes yes no    7157  0
Verdana-Bold                         TrueType     no  no  no    7153  0
Verdana-Italic                       TrueType     no  no  no    7160  0
BGBIID+Wingdings-Regular CID TrueType yes yes yes 7158 0
Courier Type 1 no no no 7162 0
Verdana-BoldItalic                   TrueType     no  no  no    7163  0
BHLHBM+TimesNewRoman,Bold            TrueType     yes yes no    7166  0
BHPCLL+TimesNewRoman,Italic          TrueType     yes yes no    7167  0
I have those fonts as *.ttf, is there any way to let xpdf use them?

Moreover, I have a similar problem with another file, whose fonts are embedded:
Code:
$ pdffonts foo.pdf
Error (0): PDF file is damaged - attempting to reconstruct xref table...
name type emb sub uni object ID

HFJMZM+Symbol CID TrueType yes yes yes 131 0
(I think this file is password-protected)

In both cases, I can view the file; but fonts are not as nice as acroread ones.

Thank you
