XP/Redhat 7.2 Dual Boot 2 HD no luck

I have an XP Pro system with a 30Gb drive. I picked up a WD 80Gb drive and installed RH Linux 7.2 on it.

I can boot wiht a floppy to RedHat, but when I tried the bootsector copy and NTLDR like so...

dd if=/dev/hdc3 bs=512 count=1 of=linux_bs.bin

then copy that file over onto a floppy and put it in c:\ on the XP partition, then modify boot.ini like so:

...
c:\linux_bs.bin="Red Hat Linux 7.2"

I get a boot menu like I'd expect, but if I choose the Linux option I get a blinky cuirsor then a reset.

System is an Athlon 1.0Ghz with 384Mb, KT7-RAID mobo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check:
1) If the 80GB disk is hdc. It may be your cdrom...
2) If there is 'boot=/dev/hdc3' in /etc/lilo.conf
3) If lilo was started in this configuration, just run it again, then do the part with dd and copying file.

If you can't boot Linux with floppy, there's no point. Reinstall.

You're doing it right, but my guess is the /dev/blah. /dev/hdb1 is more like it. a = c:, b = d:, so forth.
