XP Media Center '05 not loading on GRUB on Advent XP2100+ Dual with ubuntu
 

Dualbooting with ubuntu, XP Partition is NTFS formatted, manually edited partitions if that helps, select XP and i get following messages:
Root (hd0,0)
Filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x7
Save default
Make Active
Bootchain +1

then it hangs on that screen.

All help much appreciated.

Try reinstalling grub and see if it picks up your XP installation. Seems like you might have damaged it when you manually edited grub
