xorg-x11 is installed, where is gnome??

Hey, I just installed gentoo 2004.3 on my laptop, and emerged xorg-x11, ran xorgconfig, and typed:
startx
to try and bring up X. Well it worked, but what I got was NOT what I expected. Its just a plain black background with an x for a cursor... If I click on the background I get a menu titled "Twm", with the following options:

Iconify
Resize
Move
Raise
Lower

Focus
Unfocus
Show Iconmgr
Hide Iconmgf

xterm

kill
delete

restart
exit

and that's it... Where's the pretty gnome interface that I expected?

you hjave to emerge gnome first. xorg is just the x server you need a desktop environment like gnome or kde. Just type emerge gnome once that is done you need to edit /etc/rc.conf and at the bottom uncomment the line that says xsession=gnome then when you startx you should get gnome. hope this helped
