xorg.conf

Hi There,
I am new to linux. My goal is to alter the xorg.conf file so that I can get it to start up with 24 bit depth and 1280x1024 reolution when a monitor is NOT attached. So basically I want those values to be the default no matter what monitor is attached or if no monitor is attached at all.
I'd appreaciate any help.
Thank you!
