xmovie wont quit

i have just been using xmovie to stream a video from a windows box via the network
and after i have finnished and close the program i cannot open the movie on the windows box
after checking around back on the linux box i find xmovie is still running.

so i try the kill command but it will not quit

is there a bug in the program or something ?
