Hey all..
I'v got a little problem with my Xmms..
When I try to play something is sounds realy bad, like a CD with to much scraths..
I'v started Xmms thru the console and tried to play something, then I'v saw a
warning message..
** WARNING **: alsa_mmap_audio(): snd_pcm_mmap_commit returned 15053, expected 1
It comme up constantly with just a few seconds between them..
And when they came up Xmms repeated a little bit of the song (like 0.1 sec or so)..
that is realy anoying, I can't lissen to music..
What sound system are you using? ALSA? What kernel version? If 2.6, do you have ALSA compiled into the kernel? If not 2.6, what version of alsa-driver?
Yes it's ALSA.. I'm running on the 2.6.3 kernel that followd Mandrake 10 official PowerPack.. and I think it is complied curs it works with other apps like the movie player Totem, MPlayer and VLC.. they plays the sound realy grate..
Go into your XMMS preferences (right-click on XMMS -> Options -> Preferences), and make sure that the Output Plugin (on the bottom of the first tab) says ALSA. I've had experience where if it's set to something like OSS, it still works but sounds terrible.
MPlayer use to work grate but when I did as you said I got this message..
