xmms sound issuues

When I try to play music in xmms it's way too load. Even if I turn the volume to 0, I still hear music. Whats going on?

Open up KMIX and experiment in that. For me there are two volume controls...

if ones up very loud, and the other is down it will still play sound.

Hmm. I'm wondering I'm having the same problem When playing music from the hard disk (XMMS volume slider does nothing) but when I play stuff from a CD, it works like a charm. Gotta check XMMS home page I presume...

Have you tried running XMMS as root? It might be a permission problem. Try it as root and see if it works correctly.

Thank you everyone who replied. Checking an option in plug ins fixed it.
