xmms refuses to play mp3's!
 

Hey,

Can someone help me get xmms playing mp3's?
I installed xmms using yum.
I've had a look around on the internet - and it seems like people agree that the reason for this is that you need libmpg123.so.

Where can I get this from?
Most Google hits have been random forums, and the posts there suggest grabbing it from an older version of Linux... Unfortunatly this is my first installation of Linux so I don't have that luxury.

For Fedora Core 3 the answer is;

FYI: FC3 is now in legacy mode so you should consider (at least) using both the dag and fedora legacy sites with yum.

get a xmms plugin for mp3 .. possibly rpm package .. it will work
