xmms problem
 
whenever i open an mp3 file xmms automaticaly open's but the song doesn't plays.the file is not evev added in the file browser.it just remain's silent

Are you using RedHat by any chance? They had licensing issues with mp3's so they did not add mp3 support.

u need a plugin to play mp3 s you can get it at www.xmms.org
