I am having RedHat 9 on Intel 586 and I installed Freeamp mp3 player but I want to use xmms when I am trying to install that its installed successfully but when I am playing songs on XMMS its playing very fastly that is 5 mins songs finished in 1 minute. But the same playing well in freeamp and even in that also some songs are running very fastly what may be the problem and whats the solution for this? Whether anyone come across this type of problem what is the remedy?
Maybe you should consider removing XMMS and install it again, or givea try to mp3blaster (non-graphical mp3 player that rocks!).
Also try to install again mpg123
I had the same problem when i was new to linux and XmmS! You need to go into your preferences go into the audio input/output options and change the output from record (diskwriter plugin) to play (aRts, OSS etc)
