XMMS not working !


When I try to run xmms I get :

/home/ 'myusername' /.kde/share/config/gtkrc:37: error: unexpected identifier `gtk-alternative-button-order', expected keyword - e.g. `style'

Aborted


It is on Slack 10.1, with kde, with gtk+ 1.2.10.
Please help me.

Have you it running before? or is it a new install. If you have had it running before, what recent changes have you made to your system? IE; what have you installed/uninstalled recently? Any other changes that you have made. If its a new install check for missing dependencies or conflicts. You may need to reinstall glib 1.2.2 or higher.

I got the same message when trying to run Zinf in Fedora Core 3...

Any assistance in this area would be appreciated.

I had xmms from tgz package, but it also didnt work. This is from .tar.gz source.
I have glib 1.2.10, glibc 2.6.5

The problem is with plugin libxmms-flac.so - the newest version of glibc doesn't like the way FLAC initializes certain variables. There are several ways to fix it:

1. Remove the FLAC plugins from the xmms plugins folder (easiest, if you don't play any FLAC files)
2. Wait for a new version of FLAC (this issue will have been corrected) and then install it
3. Fix the offending FLAC source file, recompile and install
