XMMS no longer opens sound device
I recently installed Fedora Core 3, and in order to be able to play MP3s, I installed the xmms-mp3 package. XMMS was working fine at first, and now it says it can't open the sound device. I know my sound works, because I can run Fedora's soundcard detection program, and it is able to play the test sound. I don't know why XMMS wouldn't be able to play sound anymore.. Event sounds for Gnome play just fine. I did install the Fedora updates soon after I installed it, and I was thinking that maybe the new kernel did it somehow, but even if I boot to the original kernel, XMMS won't play audio.
I've tried changing the permissions for /dev/dsp and /dev/audio, but that didn't help. I also tried removing and re-installing xmms and xmms-mp3.. No luck. Any ideas?
