XMMS crashes when playing wmv

I recently install the avi input plugn for xmms. It installed without any errors but when I try to play wmv files (which it says it supports) it just crashes. Basically it just completely freezes. Also when I try playing an avi file it plays fine but with sound and with no visual.

Does anyone know why its doing this?

Use Mplayer

in my opinion i think its best to leave xmms to Mp3's.

I use Mplayer (www.mplayerhq.hu) its a nice clean program. play's audio and video. and there is a codec pack on the site that support everything (Real, Quicktime, wma etc)

i know it not really what you asked for, but thats all i got to help with
