Xine Uninstall Help

I use SuSE 8.0. YaST installed Xine for me, however, while I was switching skins that came with the program, it somehow got messed up. Now, whenever I open Xine, it INSTANTLY closes. So, How can I uninstall Xine so I can reinstall it with YaST again?

You can uninstall it the same way it was installed...with Yast.
type "xine" in the search box, and then click the box in front of the xine package until it displays a "trash" icon. apply the change and it will uninstall.
Reinstalling probably won't fix your trouble, though....it's most likely a problem with the skin or a configuration setting, which won't be removed if it's in your home directory.

In addition to that, the SuSE Xine package doesn't support DVDs, so I'd recommend MPlayer instead.

That's not very good advice, as it sounds like he "likes" Xine. You could very easily compile xineui and xinelib from source. Compile the Xine Lib first.

un tar it, ./configure, make, su to root, make install

as super user run 'ldconfig'

un tar the ui, ./configure, make, su to root, make install

That's a very good point...I should probably have suggested configuring Xine with DVD support. This is all about choice, after all =o)
Thanks for the correction.

Well, it's not that I don't want to use MPlayer, it's just that there are always errors whenever I get to the 'make'/'make install' parts of tar.gz installations. And with RPMs, its dependencie hell. So im kinda lost right now.
