Xine TVout

I have a radeon 9700 and redhat 9. I have the video working well with 3d acceleration and Tv out works. I can see my desktop on the tv. When I try to play a movie with Xine I can see the movie on my computer monitor, but not on my tv. It shows the Xine window, but inside it is black. I think it might be an overlay issue, but I'm hoping that someone might have some suggestions for me.

i might understand the problem...
you need to set the color to "force rgb mode".
i had the prob in windows at some movies, for some reason certain movies wouldnt show up on my telly, unless i set the "force rgb color mode" to true in bsplayer.
i dont know if you have any option like that on any player in linux, but i hope this helps in understanding and solving your problem.
good luck!

I'm having the same problem. Since I can emulate the same problem(same machine) in Windows, it has to be something to do with the TV being the secondary display and not a shared primary. However, ATI's Windows settings control panel has clickable icons to correct this. I didn't see anything in fglrxconfig that was similar to the options offered in ATI's settings controls in Windows. To test my theory, you can reconfig with TV as primary and your monitor as secondary. DVDs should then play on TV and not monitor. Not exactly a fix, but hopefully this lends a hand in understanding what's happening.
