xine performance

Hi All,

I installed the xine-lib-1-beta11 version of xine with xine_ui 0.9.20 on Mandrake 9.1. The video is jerky. Previously, I had RH 8 and xine worked better than this with smoother video. Am not sure what is causing this performance loss.

Any opinions please.

Cheers,
Senthil

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I thought mplayer is just command line. I want some gui for the dvd player so that menu and other features are supported on the gui.

hdparm says the foll - (dma is on)

/dev/hdc:
HDIO_GET_MULTCOUNT failed: Invalid argument
IO_support = 1 (32-bit)
unmaskirq = 1 (on)
using_dma = 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
BLKRAGET failed: Invalid argument
HDIO_GETGEO failed: Invalid argument

Thanks,
Senthil

mplayer has a gui
ogle is best at dvd menus.

ogle on ML9.1

I have ogle running on ML9.1, and it works fine. Not as good as a stand-alone dvd player though.

I have all 5 required rpm's for ogle on mandrake 9.1 << here >>, in case you need them.

Chris.
