I use a Mandrake 10 Linux.
Version of my xine is 0.9.23.
With audio files it works just fine.
When I play a video on it with it's GUI on it works fine. But when played with GUI visibility off, here is what happened with me:
Video was playing fine in fullscreen mode. I double clicked on the screen and after a few miliseconds it gave a full blue screen with sound coming and stopping. After a few seconds sound too went off. I was left with a full blue screen and a "wait" substitute of cursor( aka Sandclock-I m sorry i don't know a proper term for it). I waited patiently but nothing happened.
Nothing works here neither Ctrl+Esc nor Alt+F3 nor Ctrl+C nor Ctrl+Z
(video was playing in full screan mode so of course no task bar)
This is not the first time i m facing such a problem.
If you have any clue or any kind of help i'd really appreciate it.
When you right click on xine it gives you a list of menu.
First of them is GUI visibility.
clicking this options actually toggles the player's hardware GUI visibility (I meant a rectangular small box in which options of Play, Pause, Play Next Stream, Increase/decrease volume , Time Display...etc. are there).
ok i got it ,earleir there was this option of GUI visibilty whch is now changed to "show controls?"
what u can ry is
run xine in console and then u can see ny error messages that come up while xine hangs
also looks to me that you should consider building xine from source if u are faicng so many problems
get the latest xine-lib and for frontend use kaffeine
As i already have told that Xine gives problem only when it is running/made to /attemped to run in full screen mode.
When I play in full screen mode through console, after it hangs, I m not able to get console because the whole sreen goes blue after hanging (even after running console in "Keep above others" setting).
What only i can do is restart my computer. After restarting I am not getting the eror mesage supposedly produced in console.
What I am doing is uninstalling Xine first and then install it .I shall inform you results of this later.
But icouldn't understand by :
"and for frontend use kaffeine"
what is kaffeine.
I am having my end term exams right now, thats why i am sorry to reply u much late inspite of your quick reply.
