Xine h264 Playback

I would like to know if anyone has got Xine to play h264 files correctly? When I open a file in xine, it usually plays the audio, but the video does not work. I just downloaded and compiled xine-ui and xine-lib from the latest CVS, but still no working h264.

Am I missing something? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

do you have the essential codecs package installed?
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/dload.html

I installed it in /usr/lib/codecs directory.
What are you trying to watch? Do you have a link?

Wow, thanks for that tip. I installed my files at /usr/lib/win32 and just for the hell of it I installed at /usr/lib/codecs

I grabbed the "all" codec pack from that website (since I wanted all of it). Still nothing on the h264 playback. Some files open and then immediately close, while others play the audio but not video. Though I suspect the crashing may have something to do with the AAC audio on some of the files.

I am currently trying to get this file to play.

Xine plays everything else just fine, including a lot of windows media and other formats, Thanks for the help, but I'm still stuck.

Never mind about this problem. I fixed it by using mplayer.
