Xine

I download this DVD file for the xine player w32 codec-0.52-1.1i386.rpm I went to kongueror and installed with YAST. There is no icon to launch the program. I will like to know the command to run the player.

I also will like to know how to install this file manually because everything i try dont work. MY distro is suse 9.1

well what you installed isn't the xine libraries or the player, but just the win32 codecs. but to see if you have xine installed, just open up a shell terminal and type the command "xine" with no quotes. if you get an error, you probably don't have xine installed. in that case, go here, http://xinehq.de/index.php/releases, and download/install xine-lib and xine-ui. but, iirc, suse should have xine installed.

I will try that later, yes suse 9.1 came with xine installed but according to suse for legal reasons it is none functional and also i did type xine in the terminal and it said bad command
