ximian evolution POP problems

Hello,

I just downloaded Ximian Evolution 1.2.4 on my redhat 8.0 (I decided not to install it when I set up). When I set up my POP settings, I enter the POP server and by user name, but when it tries to connect it connects as :

butters527@pop.gmx.net

But it needs to be:

butters527@gmx.net

But the problem is the POP server is pop.gmx.net. Is there a way to make it ask for my username so i could type the whole thing in without Evolution filling it in for me?

muchas gracias

I believe it states that it is connecting as butters527@pop.gmx.net but that is just for display purposes, it is really connecting as:
username = butters527
server = pop.gmx.net

Is it not connecting correctly?
