Ximian Desktop + Debian (Or other unsupported distros)

Is there any way at all to trick ximian desktop into installing on Debian, Slack or Fedora? Or some sort of patch or something? I really dislike Red Hat and suse has been giving me a lot of problems and not wanting to install it. Thanks.

I run Debian with Garnome and it works a breeze. Even though I currently use XFCE4 as my desktop environment I have stolen a couple of lines from the Garnome GDM script to include the Garnome includes and lib directories when I run other desktops than Gnome so I can build apps against the new and shiny Garnome libs. Garnome currently provides Gnome 2.5.2 (considered "unstable" but quite usable in my opinion).
