xfree86configuration

the problem is that my resolution is 1024x768 and my color depth is 16bit. i can put up with the resolution as for the color depth that has to change. im guessing that it is because im running an nvidia geforce go 5200 fx in my laptop and im not using the latest video driver. however before doing that can anyone tell me if there is something wrong with my x configuration file. so here it is

First make a backup of your current XF86Config file.

Then in the "screens" section, replace each line that has
Modes "default"
with
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"

I believe that should work.

Good Luck!
