xforms ambiguity with lyx

Hi,
I recently got lyx ver.1.3.4.It requires the xforms package to compile,so I got its ver.1.0.90.It said that this version was a development version and one could expect bugs. Now it installed fine and no errors or warnings cropped up during it's make process.
When I tried to compile the lyx package,it started fine, but when it was compiling the xforms package dependencies ,i.e.when it entered the xforms directory(I don't know how to better describe it),it didn't move ahead after it reached a point which dealt with dialogs or something. It just stood there and nothing happened further for almost an hour, after which I manually aborted the process.Am I missing something here or is the buggy xforms version causing this?I have a pretty fast processor (intel p4 2.8 gigs),and I use fedora core 2.What could be the problem? Please help.
