xfmedia won't start without sudo

When I try to run xfmedia from user cdom it doesn't start. Then when I try to run it from xterm it gives me the response:

cdom@Jane:~$ xfmedia
Creating Link /home/cdom/.kde/socket-jane.
can't create mcop directory

But if I use sudo it starts.

Does anyone know what is wrong. I am new to linux.
