Xfce4 installation
 

Hi there:

Recently, i installed Xfce4.2 RC3 on Slackware 10.0 and so far i like it very much. However, there have been some problems with it.
During the installation process (via GUI installer) xfce-mixer got errors and the installation was unsuccessful. Even though, i can access Xfce and i works pretty well, excep that there are some features missing, like changing wallpapers, i have a 'backdrop' submenu, but i can't access it; it shows an error message about a missing plugin.

My question is which module is needed to be installed, in order to get this feature working?

Nevermind, i've recompiled the whole thing from source and it's working fine now...

I'm compiling XFCE4.2 RC3 on Slack right now...we'll see if I get the same problems as you did :D

Just out of curiousity, what do you (or anyone else) think of the 4.2 series?

never tried XFCE before and I really like it, is fresh air for me, always being between kde and fluxbox
