xfce4 Fedora Core 3
 

I have one PC with low disk space and I have installed FC3 with xfce4 rather than Gnome.

In the inittab file I have the option 5 selected. When I start my computer it starts linux with only xfwm4, the windows manager of xfce4.

When I change the inittab load option to 3 I start in console mode, I then start xfce4 by hand typing startxfce4 in the console and it loads xfce4 without problem.

So why do I have this uncomplete load in mode 5 and a perfect start when I do it in mode 3 + start by hand ?

Another question : if I have Gnome setup plus xfce4 setup what config file should I change to either start with Gnome or xfce4 ?

Try running and changing your WM that way.
