xfce Main Panel missing on Debian

Well after 3 years, I'm giving Debian another try because the apt-get utility is simply awesome. My problem is I'm using an old laptop that can only run a lightweight WM. I decided on xfce because it's fast and easy to use. My problem now is that after installing via apt and running xfce_setup everthing loads fast and runs great, but my main panel is missing. All I get on the screen is the background and the EXIT button in the bottom right hand corner. Clicking on the background doesn't give the correct menu to edit this.

Has anyone had this problem before and how do I fix it. xfce doesn'texactly have the best documentation.

Well after poking around for 5 minutes or so I stumbled on to the xfce3rc file in .xfce under my home directory. The first two line are the top left most point. It was almost off the screen. I changed it to a point that I knew was on my screen and restarted. It worked. I got it on my screen far enough to move it to where it belongs.
