Xfce 4.4 - Desktop Icons

Hi,
I just finished upgrading to Xfce 4.4, which allows for users to use desktop icons. However, I have been unable to find a good link or site that explains how to do so, and all I'm stuck with currently are home, trash, and file system icons. I was wondering if anyone could give me a good site which explains how to add an icon (i.e. I want to add an icon for gaim), using the rodent icon-theme, which is the only one I have currently installed. Do i need to edit any sort of file, etc?
Thanks in advance.

IIRC you have to right click on an existing desktop icon to get the option to create a new desktop icon. Right clicking on empty desktop won't work.

Thats not really a BSD issue either. It's just a plain old XFCE issue your having. Try in the software forum.

You need to right click on an existing icon on your desktop and a menu will pop up which has the option to add more icons to your desktop.

Well that is something well worth knowing. Been trying to figure out for some time now how to add an icon to desktop when using xfce.
