Is there a third party program (or an option in xfce) to make the panel transparent?
Thank you.

I use the gnome-panel with XFCE. This allows me to have all the gnome applets and gnome menu and transparency, etc, without so much of Gnomes bloat.

Simply type gnome-panel from the console, assuming you have it installed.

To get it to Autostart, make a symbolic link in ~/Desktop/Autostart

I hope this helps
