Xemacs Question

1. How do I change the default directory that xemacs
uses when I start up. I have read it is where it
is started from, and was wondering if there
is any easier way to configure this.

2.On the buffers bar, is there anyway to make it so
that all buffers are displayed on this bar. As it
is now sometimes opening new files put them on its
own buffers bar.

Thanks
