XChat, Mozilla Firebird
XChat Question:
I'd like xchat to dock into the systray, I'v looked around google havnt found any helpful articles. Mozilla Firebird: When opening a new window of mozilla firebirdin a different desktop window it tells you that your profile is currently in use, and if you would like to open in please make a new profile. Is tthere any way to disable this? PS: Does Noatun have a replay function? |
question 1
there is a plugin for xchat to dock into the systray called xchat-systray and can be downloaded from http://blight.altervista.org/ |
question2
Mozilla is a tabular Browser. Unlike the awful IE, you may want to press ctrl-t and open a new tab (which is basically a new window, but nicer) then opening a new window. ctrl + tab will switch between tabs and ctrl+w will close the current tab. It's just so much better :) |
I'm using Mozilla in KDE, and ctrl + tab opens a new desktop for me, not a new tab, and doesn't cycle through open tabs either
|
You could change KDE's shortcuts or when Firebird is open, go into file >> new tab

I'm not using the latest (I'm using 0.6). It's not necessary to install anything, it's a simple executable. Uncompress and run MozillaFirebird :).
Well, july was a long time ago, things goes pretty fast with OpenSource. If it's better then regular Mozilla, it's a matter of taste. Mozilla has support for e-mail client, irc, aim... Firebird does not, but you get a lot of speed instead. Both surfing and initializing it. Also, Mozilla (and most of Netscape based browsers) are capable of tab browsers. Check into file >> something. It has to be there :) |

I'm using tabbed browsing with Mozilla (4 open at the moment), but ctl + tab doesn't open a new tab or cycle through open tabs - only cycles through KDE desktops. Ctrl + W does close tabs, with a little help sometimes. |
