xchat does not like my perl plugins...

i installed xchat 2.4.1 from rpm, added python and perl rpm's but the perl plugins won't load. am i just doing something silly here? python plugins work w/o problems - is there any difference in handeling them?

Any error when you attempt to load them? I'm still running xchat 2.0.10 and Perl loads fine...

It gives me an:
Unknown file type /home/mandavi/Downloads/babylon.pl. Maybe you need to install the Perl or Python plugin?
Usage: LOAD <file>, loads a plugin or script

but the perl plugin should be installed - I get an "everything is already installed" from the xchat-perl-plugin.rpm and it is listed correctly in the rpm-database. is there any way of checking if it is loaded in xchat beside loading a plugin?

EDITit is not listed in the plugin list where i found python and tcl) - hmm, i guess that means it is not loaded... - what is to do than?

and I wish you a happy birthday !
